Ampersand Cafe: Sydney, Australia

While in Sydney, we were very lucky to find a fabulous cafe right across the street from our hotel. As a result, this is where we spent several mornings as we geared up to explore the city.

Ampersand Cafe is a charming place with three floors of books to peruse before you enjoy delicious coffee and treats on the ground floor. We didn't realize it at first but the books are available both for purchase or for just reading while in the cafe! A very different vibe to most bookstores who, reasonably, want you to purchase the book before you dive into reading it.

The cafe had lots to offer for breakfast and lunch and will soon be offering dinner according to their website.

We went for the classics: a flat white for Matt and an iced latte for me.

For food, Matt went for the "Turkish Inspired Labneh Eggs", which were seriously tasty. I had a similar dish in London at a restaurant that sadly closed so we were very excited to see it on the menu here. Labneh with spices and chili sauce topped with poached eggs and served with sourdough bread to sop it all up. Delish!

My choice was a bit of a curve ball: corn fritters with guacamole and salad. So tasty and a nice brunchy dish to start the day!

This was seriously the nicest little cafe and we were so lucky to have it so close to our hotel! Highly recommend popping in if you're staying in the Paddington area of Sydney.
